2017 A to Z Wineworks Riesling
The 2017 A to Z Wineworks Oregon Riesling shimmers in the glass with a glint of yellow gold. Compelling floral and fruit aromas invite, evocative of honeysuckle, lime, starfruit, kiwi, kumquat and quince. Compelling secondary aromas arise of candied ginger, lemon, elderflower, jasmine and gardenia. The lively palate is juicy, with balanced acidity and mouth-watering flavors of lime, limoncello, honey, pear and white peach. The 2017 A to Z Riesling showcases the quality of the vintage and the complexity gained from blending from different vineyards. Showing great length with a beautiful finish, this is an excellent food wine that pairs well with various cuisines, including spicy dishes.
Bees are nature's greatest pollinators, responsible for pollinating most of the crops we eat such as broccoli, asparagus, pumpkings, blueberries, apples, almonds and cherries. They produce honey (that we can't get enough of), and pollinate the trees that we need for oxygen. Though grapevines don't need bees to pollinate, they play an important role in the vineyard. They encourage biodiversity, and planting bee-friendly flowers and plants protects vineyards from erosion, helps regulate vine growth, and increases the soil's water-holding capacity.
A portion of the sales of the A to Z Riesling has been donated to bee health research since 2015. We have partnered with the OSU Honey Bee Lab, the Xerces Society in Portland, and Bee Girl in Southern Oregon to fund research and equipment purchases, offer workshops for home gardeners, and establish healthy habitats for bees and other pollinators.
